Hello, Elle!
I think it is more to do with time efficiency.
Fly to Glasgow, hire car to Dundee, home on Sunday.
Yes, exactly, visiting my pal's Mum.
She is in a care home, now.
They are leaving the young ones at home looking after the hens and the geckos!
(They usually bring me 6 fresh eggs, but maybe not allowed them on the aeroplane?)
It's usually more leisurely when they come by sea.
Now, I did not know that about poor Nellie?
It is a serious thing, septicaemia.
Why not 'phone out for a take away meal?

Hey, Rusty!
I hope there is no more snow in the interim, so that your friends can fly to Dundee safely.
Airports may close if conditions are bad.
I'm not sure about the eggs!
Er.......geckos?
A Take -away meal would have been good, but we do have food in the fridge and freezer......it was just a question of my not having planned dinner in advance!
( I was not in a very receptive mood, earlier!)
We had newly cooked chilli con carne, and the remains of spaghetti bolognese, from which to choose!
We went with the chilli!
Very tasty!

Hello, Elle!
I think the flight will be OK.
There has been no snow to speak of, here.
Think they had quite a bit in Norn Iron, though.
Donegal certainly got some.
The girls have geckos as pets.
They are wee reptile sort of things.
I preferred when they had rabbits.
Any sign of Mr Jingles this cold weather?

Hi, Rusty!
I thought that geckos were lizards?
I didn't realise that they were kept as pets?
I have a strong suspicion that they eat live insects?
Ugh! I wouldn't want to be preparing their dinner......!
Yes, rabbits sound a much more viable and friendly alternative!
We have had a dog, four cats, two rabbits, two guinea pigs , thirteen gerbils , a hamster, and of course our (now twenty-seven year old) goldfish all on the go at the same time!
I have not set eyes on Mr Jingles , no!
But some one has been nibbling at cupboard boxes stored in the understairs cupboards!
I fear we have had a visitation?

Hello, Elle!
Are lizards not reptiles?
I am not well up on things like that.
Anyway, they are like stretched out frogs sort of things with tails.
I do not know what the girls feed them.
They like under a heat lamp, though.
I liked the rabbits better, but they attracted cats and got very frightened.
Maybe Mr Jingles has returned for the winter?
It will be warmer inside.
You must leave bits of chocolate in the cupboards for him.
Mice love chocolate!

Take it from a zoologist, rusty, geckos are reptiles! They are insectivorous but mealworms are good food for them and you can generally get those in fishing shops and those for tropical and freshwater fish. Also any shop which sold geckos would offer a variety of live insect food!
I like geckos and even have a large one (about a metre long) made from old bicycle chains slung up my bannisters! He's called El Gecko.

Good morning, Rosalind!
Thank you for that!
I was fairly sure geckos were in the reptile family.
I am intrigued by your "bicycles chains" one!
I spotted a lovely home made reindeer on my neighbour's porch yesterday. It was made out of logs and thin branches, and had a lovely red nose.
I'll have to ask my neighbour about it.
She has young grandchildren and I suspect someone made it for them.
It is lovely!

Good morning, Rusty!
A beautiful day here - blue sky , sunshine, but a temperature only reaching 3C.
An enjoyable walk.
What is it like with you?
Now I am surprised by your friend's rabbits being scared by cats?
All our rabbits over the years have been great friends with cats - both our own and any that happened to come into our garden.
One rabbit would repeatedly line up at meal times to be fed with the cats!
And it wasn't unusual to find I had that I had a rabbit on my knee of an evening, rather than a cat!
We did have a wood pigeon, too, that was under the impression that it was a domestic pet!
It used to follow our (previous) dog around!
(Mr Jingles says that if you are recommending chocolate, he will come to stay with you.......I shall put him on the train......)
I have a friend visiting me today, then we shall go out for lunch!
What do you have planned?

Good morning, Elle!
Snowing on top of black ice here!
I am just home and here I shall stay.
Had a few things to do.
Was at Dunelm getting lavender car air freshener!
Got some for the girls' cars too.
And had a trip to TESCO and Currys and ASDA.
My friend's girls had two rabbits and the cats stalked them.
I suppose a natural thing for a cat to do.
The rabbits were frightened by them.
Just a few wee bits of chocolate for Mr Jingles.
Make him feel welcome.
It is Christmas in Mouseland, too!

Good afternoon, Rusty!
Oh dear, snowing on top of black ice is not good - it can be very dangerous.
Have you had much snow?
I hope it will not affect your friends' flight tomorrow?
I am home now, until tomorrow morning's walk!
Since having lunch, I have been down to the Post Office to buy my stamps, came home and stuck them all on.......and then went out yet again to post the cards!
Another friend then dropped in......and we have been chatting for the past hour.
I think I need to buy in some more mince pies!
We are having a lot of visitors!
Did you buy anything of interest at Currys?
Our toaster is on the way out....I think we shall soon need a new one!
I've had no time for crosswords......I might take a quick shifty now........
Have you remembered to put up your tree before your son comes?
