Hello, Elle!
You can not beat family, Elle!
Count your blessings!
I have had a canny Sunday!
The New York Marathon has just finished.
I never realised New York was so hilly!
There was a very emotional end to the women's race.
Shalane Flanagan became the first American winner for 40 years!
She was in tears way before the finish line!
I almost had a tear myself!
A great run!
I can not remember the men's winner.
Geoffrey Kamworwor or a name like that.
He ran very well indeed.
My friends are on their way home.
They will get the evening sailing to Belfast.

Hi, Rusty!
I do indeed count my blessings, Rusty.
Family is all important - as are good friends.
We are very lucky.
I wish I could have seen the NY Marathon........technically EuroSport Player owes me some money --- not a lot, but it is the principle that counts.
I don't think I have a cat in Hell's chance of getting any of it back though!
Yes, you will be right with Geoffrey Kamworwor...... he beat Mo in a Half - Marathon in Wales at some point...cannot remember when?
Mo got Bronze on that occasion.
I hope your friends have a good ferry trip.
Do they have far to travel on landing?
I am reading an old Nevil Shute - "Landfall" - that I unearthed.

Hello, Elle!
The NY race was great entertainment.
I was rooting for Miss Flanagan...same name as Mrs Mike!
There were many stewards/marshals on bikes accompanying the runners.
The EuroPlayer has been very disappointing for you.
My friends are at sea now and should reach Belfast around 21:45.
They live in a village just outside Belfast.
I just finished re-reading "Moobli" !

Hi, Rusty!
I have just been talking to my cousin.
Finally, her hand is improving and she has now lost the plaster cast.
Life will be much easier for her, now that she can drive again.
We have fireworks practically coming out of our ears!
It is a nightmare for domestic pets....my dog is very distressed by all the noise........
I wonder how the foxes feel - they must be scared?
I have just been out in the garden to check, but they must have taken cover.
The fox family lives in my (ex) neighbour's old shed, at the bottom of his garden.
I wonder can your friends see firework displays from the water as they cross on the ferry?
That will probably look very pretty.
I liked "Moobli"....... although I thought that his owner was sometimes a bit harsh in his treatment of him?

Hello, Elle!
I agree about Moobli being treated harshly at times.
No need for it. The book will be recycled in the morning!
Good tidings about your cousin!
Cars can make life a lot easier.
My friends have not mentioned fireworks, but they say the crossing has been quite rough.
But, they are seasoned sailors!
They have done the trip many times.

Hi, Rusty!
I am enjoying my Nevil Shute book - it must be very many years since I read this, as I have no recollection of the story at all!
Not even a faint bell is ringing.......
Will your friends be home by now?

Good morning, Elle!
It is cold and dry here!
Yes, my pals got home safely.
I have had a quick look at my paper.
I wanted to see if the report of the Times Championship was in it.
It is, and I am fairly sure that the vlog man is the winner, Mark Goodliffe.
There is a photo of him.
I am off to my dentist soon for 6 month check-up.

Good morning, Rusty!
It is a lovely day here - blue sky without a single cloud in it, and bright sunshine!
Extremely cold though, only 1C when I went out at 8am!
I have succumbed to wearing my thick padded (dog-walking) coat!
But great walking weather!
How did you fare at the dentist for your check-up?
I hope all was well and no dental work needed?
I have just printed off my crosswords.........so shall have a coffee and take a look.......

Hello, Elle!
We had a flurry of snow earlier!
Quite cold here, about 5C when I returned.
Alas, my dentist found two small fillings to do!
And a scrape and polish needed.
She will do them next week.
I have finished my puzzle.
Hope you get 12A !

Good afternoon, Rusty!
I shivered when I read about your snow flurry!
I am so glad that I have my new padded coat, especially purchased for walking the dog!
I bought it in the end-of-Winter Trespass Sale!
A great bargain!
Sorry about your dental news...not nice, but at least you describe the two fillings needed as "small"!
Yes, I got 12a.......of course!
I have finally completed the 15 x 15 by virtue of revisiting it several times over the course of the morning!
I thought some clues were very difficult?
My favourites were 3a; 13a; 24a; and 1d and 17d.
I had never heard of "scapegrace", but enjoyed working out the answer!
Re 2d: I have endless stock, and add in new?(8)
I have "investor"
Ive - I have
n - new
stor (e)- endless stock
But what is the definition here?
(Perhaps I need stronger coffee?)
P.S. I didn't know that a "bravo" was a hired assassin?
