Hello, Elle!
The only cemeteries that I know of, apart from my local ones, are Arlington National Cemetery, and Greyfriars (Bobby) Kirkyard, in Edinburgh. (And Boot Hill, but not sure where it is.)
I think calling it an "unfair" clue is a bit of a stretch, for I am sure many, if not most, will have heard of it.
But it was of no use to me!
I shall check it out on YouTube, though.
18A. "Program", I think that could be the American English spelling.
Rose Wild wrote a piece about using Americanisms in crosswords in her column on Saturday.
There have been complaints!
I have not watched any more cycling.
I'll wait until the Elite riders race against the clock.
Looking forward to seeing how young Elinor Barker goes.
And Tom Dumoulin and Chris Froome in the men's race.
And I have ordered me another book!
"The World of Cycling According to G"
"G" is Geraint Thomas, the Welsh rider.
I like him.

Although "programme" is the English spelling in most contexts, "computer program" is almost universally accepted.

Hi, Rusty!
We have had a nice walk, just managing to dodge the showers!
The park was more or less deserted !
Ah yes, now I have heard of Greyfriars Bobby!
So I suppose it is equally possible that some folk may know that Karl Marx is buried in Highgate Cemetery!
You will enjoy your new book by Geraint Thomas!
Yes, I know you like him - you have mentioned him quite a lot.
I have just been talking to my daughter on her way home from work.
We are planning to go out for lunch on Wednesday (after the vet visit) !
That will be nice!
Right....... I feel in need of a coffee........
We may resort to the chip shop for dinner tonight!

Hello, Chris!
You haven't been around for a bit?
Have you been away?

Yes, elle - a week in Italy. We've been back nearly a week now, but I've been pretty busy.

Fern spotting, Chris?
Or just holidaying?

Both! Vegetation was a bit parched after 3 months of drought - which broke soon after we arrived; there was flooding nearby at the weekend.

We did see some fascinating birds, though - pretty new to the European list. We couldn't identify them at the time, but since we got back, iSpot (do you know this wonderful site?) provided an ID of Red-billed Leiothrix.

Good evening, Elle!
There is a grand tale about Greyfriar's Bobby but I am not sure how accurate it is!
And...I have had a look round Highgate Cemetery... on YouTube!
One video I looked at claimed to have a ghost in it, but I think it was a change of camera angle that gave that illusion.
And I knew almost nothing about Karl Marx at all.
So I investigated him and discovered that he had married a lady called Jenny, they had seven children and the four girls were all called Jenny after their mother, which would make for a very confusing Christmas morning, when opening the presents!
And he suffered badly from boils.
I am not sure if our chip shop opens on a Monday.
They never used to, because the boats stayed in harbour on Sundays, so no fish.
I had macaroni and cheese for my tea.
Was very nice!

I really like graveyards, from the Quaker ones which rarely have any headstones to the famous one at Glasgow with huge monuments. Other than the Taj Mahal , which only has 2 bodies, I guess the most famous one is Pere Lachase in Paris, where (to name just a few) Oscar Wilde, Bizet, Rossini, Balzac, Proust, Chopin, Edith Piaf and Jim Morrison are buried.
I have recorded a complete country churchyard and helped with several others. If the stones are not recorded the information will be lost forever.
My favourite inscription is at Durham Cathedral "Here lies all that could die of..."
One day I'll make it to Highgate!

Hello, Rosalind!
There are dozens of videos about Highgate Cemetery on YouTube.
Maybe one or two of them may catch your interest?

Hi, Rusty!
I had sausage and chips for my dinner........from the chip shop!
Very nice!
It is surprising how good something tastes when one hasn't had to cook it!
Yes, there is a lot of information around on Highgate Cemetery!
We used to live near Highgate.......I must surely have told you that?
In Crouch End...when we were first married.
Before we moved South of the River!
I have been having trouble this afternoon, sending out a couple of emails.....it is a good job that this didn't happen this morning!
At least I got the bulk of my correspondence off without a problem.
The latest emails are still sitting in my Drafts box, accompanied by a message that there is delay in dispatching them!
No reason given as to why?
Have you ever had that happen ?
This is new to me!

Thanks , Chris!
An excellent reference.
You did well to track down the birds that you saw.......and recognise them on the website.
They are very beautiful.

Yes, Ros
Highgate is well worth a visit, if you ever have the chance to go there.
