Hi, Rusty
!I didn't see the connection between "keep" and "tower", let alone removing the "o"(round)!
I did think of "p" for quiet".
Thank you!
I would never have got that!
There is a risk, I would have thought, from giving an animal raw bones...especially chicken bones?
There might well be tears in the intestines? or choking?
And surely it must be difficult to establish the correct nutritional balance?
Electrolytes, minerals , vitamins...being essentially important ?
Also a possible risk of infection from raw meats?
And commercial food can be adjusted to contain the right balances...and especially when these need to vary for different aged animals?
And for animals with different dietary needs?
I could summon up a case for either way, I think!
It probably rests with the individual owner to do what he /she thinks best for his own animal?
"The proof of the pudding is in the eating" sounds a good maxim, here!

Hello, Elle!
This lad says dogs are descended from wolves, and their jaws, teeth etc are designed for tearing meat and bones etc.
Seems to make sense.
He thinks the additives in commercial dog foods do more harm than good.
The more natural way seems best to me, and he has very happy customers!
The pup gets fed twice a day now, (the lad weighs the portions) and she is very content and a lot less boisterous.

Hi, Rusty!
That is all good!
I am glad that the pup is doing so well.

Good evening, Rusty!
Oops! the rain didn't stay away long enough.....!
It fairly threw it down again!
Cold and wet!
Yes, I think Winter is here.......
The dog seems to be limping a little?
I'm not sure whether she has pulled a muscle or walked on some of the burrs that are dropping from the trees, and hurt her footpad?
It is only noticeable when she walks - it does not seem to impede her running.
We shall see what tomorrow brings?
Do you have any sport to watch? or a favourite TV programme?
Still no access to Eurosport Player ....but I have "Casualty" later on.

Hello, Elle!
It is not very warm here, too.
I think you should inspect the dog's paw carefully.
If you can not see anything just keep an eye on things for a day or two.
I have watched a bit of the ladies golf from France.
Lydia Ko is not far off the lead, and the scenery is great!
The World Cycling Road Championships start on Monday, so I shall follow that.
I have recorded an episode of Question of Sport, but only because Dame Sara is on it, and I like Phil Tufnell, too.
I noticed Rose Wild had a bit about crosswords in her column today, with quotes from Richard Rogan, too.
About "Americanisms".

Hi, Rusty!
It is always difficult to tell which paw is affected when a dog limps, but I am thinking it is her front right paw...... or, at any rate, that leg?
But I checked all four paws when we came home, and there is nothing caught in any of her pads........
Nor doe she flinch, when I feel around her feet, and up her legs.
Maybe she has pulled a muscle in her shoulder?
We shall take it easy and see how she goes.......
It is good you have the golf to watch.
I caught up with "Cold Feet" - I do enjoy that programme!
I wondered how successful a continuation would be, "fifteen years on", but all indications are that it is going to be very good indeed!
All the actors/ actresses are good, but James Nesbitt makes it!

Hello, Elle!
Could be she stood on a sharp object and it is a bit sore?
James Nesbitt is a fine actor, I like him.
Now, speaking of actors/films.
I was telling my son about Margaret Hamilton and he had not heard of her, but he told me about a film called "Hidden Figures" which was about three women who were scientists/mathematicians on the American Mercury and Apollo Space Programmes.
John Glenn would not get into a spacecraft until he knew these women had checked out all the data etc.
These women were African-Americans and were segregated from the rest of the space teams because of their colour.
I am not sure how accurate the film is, but I have discovered there is a book about it which I am going to try and find on Amazon.

Hi, Rusty!
Try reading this article by the Guardian
https://www.theguardian.com/film/2016/dec/11/black-women-mathematicians-nasa-john-glenn-space-race
It tells you all about the situation with John Glenn...and the film that was made, based on the following reference to the book........
Hidden Figures: the American Dream and the Untold Story of the Black Women Mathematicians who helped win the Space Race, by Margot Lee Shett
I hope this will be of some help?
( I also discovered that there is a second "Margaret Hamilton" who is an actress!)

Hello, Elle!
Thank you for that!
I have concentrated on one of the women, Katherine Johnson.
I went to YouTube and there are "loads" of stuff about her!
There was an interview with her, and her two daughters also spoke about her. Just lasts 5 minutes.
But, she was 98 when she was interviewed, 99 now.
The film Hidden Figures is on YouTube, but it costs £3.49 (I think) to watch it.
Her interview is fascinating stuff.
The book is on Amazon, for 1p.
I shall order it tomorrow.
Last week was all about the Northern Lights, this week it's American female space mathematicians/scientists!
What on earth will next week bring!
Isn't it a wonderful world!

Hey, Rusty!
When you put it like that, Rusty, then yes, it is indeed a "wonderful world"!
When you open a newspaper and /or listen to the radio...and read about what North Korea is doing to Japan, and threatening to do to the US. -- and about ISIS , terrorism in general, and the latest nail bomb on the Tube -- then I am not so sure!
But I guess life is no different than it has always been - one takes the rough with the smooth.........
"Life is what you make it" as the old saying goes.......
The good can overpower the bad......
I hope you enjoy your book !
I am now reading my first book by Robin Pilcher.
It is very good!
