Good morning, Elle!
Fine day here and breezy.
Great weather to get the Hill's Hoist whirling!
The osprey nest is often empty now.
The birds will be on the tree branches overlooking the loch.
Some fine perches there.
In the trees I mean, not the loch.
I was at Screwfix earlier.
I discovered their lightbulbs are much cheaper than ASDA's.
I have not much in the way of plans, too.

Hi, Rusty!
You are a good customer of Screwfix!
We have a local branch here, too! A very useful shop!
Are you doing jobs for yourself - or still "fixing up" your granddaughter's flat?
Just a cautionary word, though, about ( cheap) light bulbs... remember the exploding ones that I had!"
Our electrician warned us after that little episode , to buy always from a reputable electrical dealer.
I guess Screwfix might fit that category..... but maybe not a supermarket?
(Sorrry, Asda!)
I've just made a start on the Crossword.....

Hello, Elle!
I made a mistake!
I picked up a Screwfix catalogue and it gives me ideas!
My local branch is excellent with knowledgeable cheery staff.
Miss La Bamba worked there for a while.
I agree with your sparky.
You should buy from a reputable store.
Compare.
2 bulb pack from ASDA cost £3
3 bulb pack from Screwfix cost £1.49

Toolstation, if you have one near you is cheaper even than Screwfix and better in my opinion. They will deliver free if purchase more than £10
It was started by one of the ex-Directors of Screwfix

Hi, Rusty!
Goodness, it is my week for visitors!
A neighbour popped in for a coffee........... and my morning has completely disappeared!
(It was nice to chat , though!)
Yes, that is certainly a cheap price for a pack of bulbs!
We are having problems, though, these days when needing to replace a light bulb..... All too often it is to find that said light bulb has become "extinct"?
A bit like a dinosaur or a dodo!
Do you not have this problem?
I went to Ikea to buy replacement bulbs for (relatively ) recently purchased Standard Lamps.......only to find that the required bulbs no longer existed.
Yes, I was able to get bulbs to fit......eventually.......but of different design and strength to those I required.
What is going on in the electrical world?
Now, have you done your puzzle?
I started off well...but the interruptions seem to have drained my brain power!

Hello, Rosalind,
You have told me about Toolstation previously.
I had a look, but my Screwfix has better parking and really helpful folk working there.
I am a Screwfix fan!

Good afternoon, Elle!
Great weather here!
Lightbulbs?
I think it is a national problem.
High time there was less of a pantomime trying to find the right bulbs.
Do we not have a Minister of Lightbulbs?
We need a brightspark (do you get it?) to sort this out!
Yes, my puzzle is complete.
One new word and a clue I am dubious about. 1A.
There is an item on Scottish News which interested me.
There have been osprey chicks removed from nests in Scotland and taken to the Basque country in an attempt to reintroduce ospreys there.
They say no ospreys have bred there for over 100 years.
I do not think it will be easy, but I am no expert.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes , glorious here, too!
Now.....we shall stay away from light bulbs before you are tempted to utter any more terrible puns...!
( Actually , it wasn't too bad an effort! )
That is interesting about the transfer of osprey chicks to the Basque country.
But the practicalities?
Do they take chicks only?
In which case they must hit the exact moment when the chicks can care for themselves?
Or do they transfer the parents, too?
I have finished my puzzle!
Inspiration did not exactly blaze forth ...but I have struggled through.
I did not know "Dagon" but worked it out backwards!
I had to look it up in Chambers...."the national god of the Philistines, half -man , half -fish"
I live and learn!

Hello, Elle!
Now, the ospreys!
If you type "Roy Dennis Wildlife Foundation" into Mr Google you will find a wealth of info about the Basque project.
The birds appear to come from well North of here in Morayshire and Inverness.
Yes, but the clue says "British" and "dragon" is a Welsh symbol?
Am I being picky?
I found another wonderful word in Chambers!
"Bafflegab"!
Not sure, at all, what it means, though!

Elle,
They are also taking birds to Poole Harbour, Dorset.
Quite a big project.
The birds are from the far North of Scotland.
Is Poole Harbour far from you?
