Hi, Rusty!
The rain has stopped and the sun come out!
Anyone for tennis?
I have just checked on the ospreys; both chicks are in the nest at the moment.
I have been studying the website for the Parathletics World Championships, in readiness for our visit to Day Two tomorrow.
And reading up on how to get to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. in Stratford.
The Games will be held in the London Stadium at the South end there,
(previously called the Olympic Stadium)
It starts at 7 pm - and should be good!
I am looking forward to it!
Did you get your watch strap?

Hello, Elle!
Yes, I got a watch strap and a haddock.
I hope you enjoy your outing to the athletics.
Have you worked out a route to follow?
Great day here, but I see the golfers wearing sweaters.
Must be chilly on the other side of Scotland!

Good day, Pigale!
Are we to have a French winner for Bastille Day?
I hope so!
Today's stage is fairly short but may be exciting now that Froome showed a weakness yesterday.

Good day to you Rusty!

Wouldn't it be fantastic, a French win on 14th July! I hope Romain
is not feeling over tired after his performance yesterday!

I agree that Froome's slight show of weakness yesterday is adding
some spice to the race; It is not as exciting when the end result
is a foregone conclusion, and it will force Froome to work extra
hard, as I am sure his morale has suffered somewhat!

The scenery should be great and the local meteo seems OK except
at the top of Col d'Agnes, which often happens in high altitude.
If not a bear (they stay hidden), I would like to see a vulture or a
sparrowhawk as we did last year.

Hi, Rusty!
I like haddock!
You will be spoilt for choice between the fish and the roast dinner?
Yes, I have planned our route for tomorrow afternoon.
We shall need to drive to the local railway station......then take a train, followed by the Tube to Stratford Station (in the East End)
Then a 20 minute walk.
I think we shall need to leave home about 4ish?
But I must check the Saturday trains.......
I have a list of "prohibited items".....
No smoke grenades allowed.......!
Seriously, this is on the list!!
Yes, chilly here today (comparatively to previous weather )!

Hello, Pigale!
I wish you NO mist.....but that you will see sparrowhawks, vultures and bears en route during the cycle racing!
I may look in briefly, depending on the tennis enthralment!

Hello Elle,

Thanks for your good wishes......!!!

When you say you will have to leave about 4ish, is this morning
or evening? It sounds like an expedition!
What time do the events take place?

Hello, Elle!
No, no!
My fine haddock is for tomorrow's breakfast!
A Saturday treat!
I shall dine on the roast beef for today's tea.
There have been several eejits with smoke grenades during the Tour.
Bad for the riders breathing in that muck especially when they are climbing.
Your stadium is wise to try and forestall smoke grenades.
Especially after the recent tragedy due to fire!
I hope the tennis is entertaining today.

Hello, Pigale!
Maybe yesterday was a one-off for Froome?
We should know today.
Anyway, my fingers are crossed for France!

Hi, Rusty!
I think the security will be very tight at these public events and so it should be in view of the recent terrorist attacks.
We are all warned in advance to allow plenty of time for access to the Grounds as everyone will be searched on entry.
I do not think folk will mind that...human safety is paramount.
I shouldn't have smiled at the thought of not being able to take a "smoke -grenade"!
It appears I cannot take a flag -pole either!
The tennis? ...
I haven't had time to watch any yet,.......!
But a quick glance shows me that Querry took the first set off Cilic....
Uhm.....maybe Sam could have beaten Andy "fair and square"?
I shall switch on the TV in a bit to watch Roger!
How is your cycling going?

Hello, Pigale!
We shall leave home about 4 pm in the afternoon!
It is quite a distance away from here...and involves a drive, a train, a Tube journey and a walk!
The events start at 7pm., but the grounds are open an hour and a half beforehand.
It should be good!

Well done Warren!
The last time a French rider won on Bastille Day was in 2005!

Good stage I thought - shortish but far from easy.
And beautiful scenery.

Mixed feelings about Froome....

Elle, hope you enjoy yourself!

Hello, Pigale!
Great day for Barguil and France!
He will be on the front pages tomorrow!
I thought it was excellent racing today.
Barguil is still young.
A future Tour winner?
Great scenery, too!

Hello, Elle,
Yes, best to leave the smoke flares at home.
The flagpole would not go down too well on the train!
The cycling was great.
Scenery was super and a French rider won on Bastille Day!
Now I will see a how the golf and tennis is coming along.
