Hi, Rusty!
I am reading (again, but it is a very long time ago since I last read it) "Not a Penny More, Not a Penny Less" by Jeffrey Archer.
I am enjoying it..... he is one of my favourite authors.
I still have not done anything about bolstering up my reading material!
I must consult with Amazon and ebay tomorrow, if I get time.
We have a hospital visit to fit in around midday.
My husband has to go for a lung Xray before his check up the following Monday with the Consultant.
I always get nervous at these times...I hope all will be okay.
I know the answer to your clue!
"Little Bo -Peep has lost her sheep".
But I thought you said you has "binned" the book?

Hello, Elle!
I 'has' binned the book, but I took note of several clues before doing so.
I kept one, 23x23, they are modern ones compared to the 27x27 ones.
Bo-peep is in Chambers Dictionary.
Do you go with your husband to his appointments?
That is very thoughtful of you, I think.
I go alone, but occasionally I have a granddaughter along.
Much better, I find it, and it saves me driving.
I agree a lung x-ray can be worrying.
I have had a few over the years.
On my notes is written "ex smoker" in big letters!

Hi, Rusty!
Sorry about the typo!
It should of course have read "had"!
Yes, I always go with my husband to his appointments.
Although not necessarily to the Xrays.
But I always go to see the Consultant.
We are always advised in our letters of appointment to take some one along as "back up."
Since my husband had a cancerous lobe removed , he gets regular check ups.
It is always like the sword of Damocles hanging over us.
Ironically, my husband has never smoked!
But I thought you gave up a long time ago?
Bo-peep is in my Chambers as a game of "Boo"!

Hello, Elle!
I stopped smoking 11 years ago, or 12?
It is on my notes in large print!
My Dad died of lung cancer and never ever smoked.
When he went to the doctor with chest pain the GP told him to take paracetamol.
And this to a man who very rarely went to a doctor.
I was raging at the doctor.
Oh, I did not know you were advised to take "back up" with you?
I do not think I have had that, except when I had cataract surgery, but I went on my own, anyway.
They did not mind me being on my own.

Good morning, Elle!
Fine day here!
The wind has dropped, I think.
I have not ventured out yet, though.
I hope your husband and you get on OK at the x-ray department today.
The one I sometimes go to here is very efficient, with excellent staff..
A visit takes around 15 minutes in total from the minute I walk into the building until leaving it after x-ray.
It impresses me, anyway!

Good morning, Rusty!
It is rather dull and windy here!
A bit on the chilly side as yet.
Have you been out for your paper yet?
The Xray appointment is at 1 pm, so we shall need to leave about 11.45 am as the hospital is quite some distance away.
I am not envisaging getting home again until about 2.30 pm
I have noticed that the Scottish NHS seems to be far more efficient than does ours!
There will be time for a quick tidy round.......and a cup of coffee and a look at the crossword!
How about you?
Do you have plans for the day?

Hello, Elle!
Nice morning here.
No plans.
A few weeks ago I went to GP who made an electronic appointment with x-ray department for me at a local hospital.
I drove straight there and was seen and x-rayed immediately.
I had the GP appointment and x-ray done in less than an hour, since I left home.
I was pleased!

Hi, Rusty!
Wow, now that is excellent service indeed!
It doesn't seem to happen here......
The last time I went to see the GP, first of all I had to fix her computer!
Honestly....I kid you not!
I managed it though, so she was well impressed with me!
I did the Times QC in record time this morning....only to come unstuck once I started the 15 x15!
I began well enough...I thought 1d was a very good clue.......I popped it in, full of enthusiasm....but I haven't got much further!
Time, anyway, to get ready for the off!
Talk later.......

Hello, Elle!
I eventually agree with you about 1d.
Took me a while to parse, though.
Quite a good puzzle today, I think.
Great day here, but windy!

Good afternoon, Rusty!
Just arrived home..... I told you it would be a lengthy process at the hospital!
I dread to think how many hours we shall spend there next Monday, when we have the actual appointment to see the Consultant.
The Clinic always runs late, and we unfortunately have one of the last appointments!
The staff are always pleasant and friendly though, so that will help.
I was considering taking out the dog now, but have decided that my foot could benefit from the rest.
So it will be the garden for the remainder of the afternoon.
I cannot do this larger crossword - I have probably covered about a quarter of the grid.
Did you not find it hard? perhaps it is just me?
