Good morning, Rusty!
Yes, fine here, too, albeit a bit chilly!
We have just come back from voting.
I like to do it early in the day.
I hope your day goes well, and according to plan ......I know you have a lot to sort out..........yes, catch you later......

Good afternoon, Pigale!
How are you doing today?
I hope the pain and discomfort of your injuries is lessening?
Do you have the cats back home with you again?
They will have missed you whilst you were in hospital.
Please do not type a reply if it still hurts you to do so....I just wanted to know that I was thinking about you!

Good evening, Rusty!
How are you?
How did your day go?
Has your son been to visit you this evening?
It's been restful here - after a hectic day yesterday!
Apart from crosswords , voting and dog walking, I have done very little!

Good evening, Elle!
My day went as well as I could have hoped for.
The last 2/3 weeks have been a bit stressful but it is all behind us now!
I was with my son for a good part of the day, and he came to see me in the evening, which was great!
Did you watch the Diamond League?
No voting for me today.
I pamper myself with a postal vote!

Good morning, Rusty1
I am glad that yesterday went as well as could be expected....... and , as you say, it is all behind you now.
It has been an upsetting few weeks for you.
It is good that your son was there with you yesterday.
No, I didn't watch the Rome Diamond League!
I had it in my head that you had told me it was today?
I was mentally geared up for watching it this evening!
(And surprisingly I haven't received any alerts from EP).
Well, never mind....... I can watch the Highlights on BBC1 tomorrow - poor though they usually are, they will be better than nothing!
Although unfortunately it will clash with the French Open Women's Finals match.
If possible, I shall have to watch one, record the other!
A lovely day here!

All in the past now.
I told you Thursday for Diamond League.
Our weather is a bit wet today.
Local flooding after all the rain yesterday.
Just wondering if Miss La Bamba and me will get to Pine Cone tomorrow.
Hope the roads are driveable out there!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, we have been having some rain, too!
After a lovely start to the day, we had a very heavy downpour which is only just beginning to dry up.
I got as far as doing the Times QC earler - very straight forward this morning.
But after that the phone has been ringing practically non stop, and this is the first chance I have had to return to the computer!
A number of people, including my daughter, wanted to discuss the political situation!
Which very quickly, it would seem, is now on the way to being resolved........?
I didn't ask you whether you yourself had managed to watch the DL?
Although perhaps not, as you were out a lot and then had your son visiting you?
( but of course, I do not know what time it was televised)
I have already set the recorder for tomorrow!
Have you done your puzzle?

Hello, Elle!
Yes, my puzzle is complete.
The politcal situation is an almighty mess in my opinion.
And getting worse by the minute if the news reports are accurate.
I have not watched the Diamond League.
Had a quiet evening with my son.
I am going out for some fresh air now.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I think you are right.....the political situation is indeed in a mess......
"A drowning man will clutch at a straw"?
And "If you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas" probably covers it well.
I think one needs to share basic views to have any sort of an alliance, be it an official one or otherwise.
The DUP are strongly against gay marriage.....I have friends of the same sex who have recently married. They are lovely people and very happy together.
How could I condemn that?
And also the DUP's attitude to abortion.........
Are we compromising our standards if we ally ourselves with a Party with whom many will not agree on basic morals/ principles?
I daresay I am naive in some of my views...and I know that Theresa May had a difficult decision to make ....but.......?
Did you have a good walk?
Dog and I have been out in the garden........

Hello, Elle,
The problem as I see it, is we have a very ineffective Prime Minister.
There was no need whatsoever for this election, none!
But, she called it, and is now crawling to the DUP to support her, because her lack of judgement almost brought her down.
How can she stoop so low as to jump into bed with the DUP?
Anybody but them.
I wonder if the Queen said anything to her about the result when she went to the Palace today?
"Well, Theresa, you made a right mess of the election you wanted, and here you are wanting to form another government!"
I think the Queen should have chased her!
