Hi, Rusty!
It took me a couple of minutes to understand what you meant by the sleep taking place abroad.......
I have it now...... "siesta"!
No 1 siest(a).........noisiest
although I'm not sure of the definition?
Is it "in such surroundings"?
I am away out for a walk now....... to enjoy this beautiful sunshine!

Good evening, Rusty!
Yes, it has indeed been a lovely day.
We had a great time out walking this afternoon.
I like it when it is bright an sunny, yet with that chill in the air that makes one want to walk briskly!
Very energising!
I was going to meet my daughter and youngest grandson tomorrow for lunch, but the young one has gone down with a rash........possibly an allergy reaction to his MMR jab, last week.
I hope he feels better soon.
She sent me a photo - he does look very spotty!
Poor little mite!
I just hope he doesn't feel too itchy!

Hi, Rusty!
My picture of the ospreys nest is very clear for about thirty seconds! but after that it is half obscured, as though looking through opaque glass.
I still have an apology for the fault coming up on my screen.
Lassie is sitting there though, looking in fine fettle!
I haven't seen Laddie for a while?
My daughter's car is back in action since last week.......sorry, I thought I'd told you?
She got the clutch replaced and all is well now.
They do need the two cars as the children have to be taken to school and nursery in opposite directions and then have of course to be picked up again at the end of the day.
My daughter goes to work on the train.....my son-in -law drives there.
It can make for a long day.
I meant to ask how you liked the homophone in 20a?
I rather enjoyed it!

Laddie will not be far away.
On a nearby branch, or even chasing intruders away.

Yes, it is a strange fault on the webcam.....but at least I get a clear picture immediately, if only for a few seconds.........
Does Lassie still only have the three eggs?
I was trying to remember back to last year....how many weeks did it take for the eggs to hatch?
I recall us being on edge waiting.......!
All seems to have gone quiet on the British Cycling scandal?
I haven't read anything in the News recently?

Fine morning here, but a tad chilly.
Lassie has three eggs and it must be fairly soon until the first one hatches.
The BC scandal does not appear to be a top priority with anyone.
The Parliamentary enquiry only meet every few weeks.
I have no idea what will happen, and there is an Election looming too.
Brushes and carpets?

A beautiful morning here, too - but, as with you, it is somewhat chilly.
8C as yet, with a promise of reaching 12C later.
Yes, the call for a General Election is a rather a bolt from the blue?
We have been having a political discussion during the dog walk this morning!
( No one came to blows!)
I have had an email from John to say that he didn't receive any crosswords with his online Times this morning......
Have you been for your paper?
Presumably, it is just an online problem, and the crosswords are there as usual in the printed edition?
I am wondering whether to go out again out for a newspaper?
