Rusty, no problem - my short reply was done in a hurry and easy to overlook!

Hi, Rusty!
Thank you for explaining the parsing there....
I do not know why I didn't think to look in Chambers?
A senior moment?
We still need a fence replacing in our garden.....well, to be accurate, it is not our fence that has need of repair but that of our neighbour.
Either he, or we, will need to sort it out... before the dog escapes!
I have already contacted our landscape gardener for a quote - it will be a fairly big job.
Tennis starts in a few minutes.... but I cannot find a schedule?
I have no idea who will be playing?

Hello, Chris!
Yes, I've heard that joke before...... a good one!
It brought a smile!

Thank you , Malone!
I have never heard that before !

Another one I may have mentioned before, elle. When the rugby player Billy Twelvetrees was playing for Leicester (he's now with Gloucester) the club captain was a Leinsterman called Geordan Murphy. He always referred to Billy as "tirty-six".

Hello, Elle!
There is a "filthy air" alert for London just been announced.
Maybe best cutting back on your walks until the air clears?
The air quality would not do your husband any good, Elle?
Yes, best get the fence repaired.
Konta plays Williams on Wednesday, but not sure when.
Eurosport are showing the tennis from around midnight (UK time)

Hi, Rusty!
Now.......I watched Jo Konta play Ekaterina Makarova.
Jo took the first set easily 6 -1 and then was 4 -1 down in the second set.
I was getting rather worried for her, when I realised that you must already have seen the result to know that Jo next plays Serena!
You must be viewing the tennis well ahead of me?
Anyway, as you will know, Jo came back and won the second set 6-4!
So yes, she is through to the Quarter Finals.
I didn't know that London had a "bad air alert" system?
This must be something new?
My husband doesn't come out with me for the early morning walk.
I meet up with a friend to walk our dogs.
He comes out for the later walk in the afternoons - but today I decided it wasn't fit to go out.
You are right, it would be foolish for him to go out in such poor air quality.
I try to keep him on the straight and narrow!
It is still a bit "hazy" around here but doesn't seem too bad........

Yes, Chris, you told the one about "Billy Tirty-six"!
I like the Seamus one better, though!

Hello, Elle!
Type "filthy air alert" into Google and it will tell you all about it.
It is a system put in place by your new Mayor, Mr Khan.
Yes, your husband's health must come first.
You need a strong wind to clear the filthy air away, I think.
Possibly your area is not so bad, though?
i saw Jo this morning.
I had a look at Paddy Power's odds for her game with Serena.
Serena is favourite, but not as short odds as I thought she would be.
There is skiing tomorrow, too!

Hi, Rusty!
I have just been reading about the "smog" we are apparently experiencing.
The photos shown on Google are reminiscent of thirty odd years ago....I do not recall fog of this magnitude for a very long time.
I can remember the "pea-soupers" we used to get, when I first came to London.
Fortunately for us, we now live about ten miles out from Central London, and we have had very little fog today comparatively, by the sounds - and sights - of it.
It was worse this morning when I arrived at the park, but then that is on higher ground.
The forecast for tomorrow is similar - early morning frost and fog.
Yuk!
I may stay home if it is very bad......I can decide in the morning.
Where is your skiing taking place?

Good evening, Elle!
The men are skiing at Schladming in Austria.
The women are at Kronplatz in Northern Italy.
I would imagine the "filthy air" will be at its worst in the more built up areas of London.
You appear to dwell in a more open area, with parks etc, which act as "lungs" for the city.
But, have a thought in the morning before venturing out.
Smog is unhealthy!
Mr Khan is quite right to issue warnings about it.

Good morning , Rusty!
It was a tad "misty" when I went out with the dog at 8 am, but is absolutely glorious now!
Blue skies, sunshine, the last vestige of fog has gone, and the frost is fast melting.
And not as cold today! 4C maximum expected.
What is it like with you?
Have you been out for your paper yet?
I am in now until mid afternoon, when we are going to visit our granddaughter, taking her birthday present.
She is now 7. Where do the years go?
Are you watching the skiing?
Is it on now?

Good morning, Elle.
It is overcast here.
Supposed to be 7/8 degrees but it feels colder to me.
I caught a bit of the men skiing but have been taking an interest in the Supreme Court decision regarding Article 50.
The women's giant slalom is live just after 11 o'clock.
Roger F is going along nicely in the tennis.
There are still a lot of cancelled flights at Heathrow due to fog?
You will have a nice time visiting your granddaughter!
Hope there is no smog on your journey!
