Hi, Rusty!
I expect that you enjoyed going out with Miss L-B, far more than you would have liked watching the skiing!
We have been out, too!
The weather underwent a sudden transformation, and we have had blue skies and sunshine.
Still very cold, but the frost and snow have melted, although the lake in the park remains partially frozen.
It was an enjoyable walk.
Yes, I am sorry that I shall miss the Bing documentary.
I wonder if I could find this on the computer? I'm not sure as it is coming from the Sky channel?
I often watch a programme later on BBCiplayer.
Maybe there is a "Sky" equivalent?
I also like Henry Fonda.
I remember him and Katharine Hepburn in "On Golden Pond"
A beautiful film.
Did you see it?

Hello, Elle!
Do you know this.
I have not seen "On Golden Pond".
I know it was very popular though.
I hear good things about "La La Land", too.
I would like to see that.
I know little about the Bing doc, but I think his wife and daughter take part.
Have a look on YouTube?
Every time I switch my TV on, Sky ask me to tune into wifi, for some reason or other.
Maybe that is to watch old shows?
I never do it, anyway.
Yes, had a good time with La Bamba.
She giggles a lot.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, "On Golden Pond" is well worth watching if you ever get the chance.
What is "La La Land"? I haven't heard of it?
I saw Bing's daughter, Mary, in Dallas , many years ago.
She played Kristin Shepard, who shot JR!
I really enjoyed that series!
Now.....sadly, I am somewhat disappointed with my new TV table!
I approve the shape - which is to fit across a corner of my lounge - very much, but I do not like the wood.
The table, not yet erected and still in bits - does not look anything like the picture on the Argos website! The colour is all wrong!
It is supposed to be a medium oak, which would have matched all our existing lounge furniture.
I guess this is the disadvantage of buying online without actually seeing the goods prior to purchase.
(Something I in fact rarely do!)
I have debated about sending it back....but it wasn't very expensive (probably another mistake; I think I have been lured into false economy!).......
and so I think we will keep it and use it for now, and have a look around at leisure to see if we can find a table we prefer.
That would be the most practical solution.
Oh dear!

Hello, Elle!
I am an old square, but even I am up on La La Land!
It is a musical love story sort of thing, set in LA.
Stars Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling.
The film has won awards.
I am wondering if a granddaughter would go to cinema with me?
On YouTube there is a short clip of the Bing doc.
Type "Bing Crosby, Sky Arts" in YouTube and lo and behold...
Next week it is Greta Garbo and Charlie Chaplin.
There is another prog on next week that may interest you?
I can not mind the title, but it is about Van Gogh and comes from the Van Gogh museum/gallery.
In Amsterdam, is it?
That is a pity about the table.
Are you certain you ordered correctly?
What about getting wood stain and painting it to a colour you do like?
Or put a table cloth over it?
To every problem there is a solution, to quote someone or other.
Talking of wood, did you see that possibly the tallest tree in Britain, the "Douglas Fir", was blown down in last weeks storm.
It is at the Hermitage, near Dunkeld.

Hi, Rusty!
I have just been watching "Casualty."
I think I must have missed an episode because I was a tad confused by the plot!
Now, latest update on the table!
It does actually look much better when assembled.
I am indeed very pleased with the shape....I shall just have to see whether I can tolerate the difference in shade....
Maybe once the table has the television , Freeview box and DVD player standing on it, I will not notice the mismatch so much?
I don't know....
I would like to see the Van Gogh programme...and yes, the Van Gogh Museum is in Amsterdam.
I should think that one - or more- of your granddaughters would be delighted to go to the cinema with you to see "La La Land"!

Hello, Elle!
I don't know, too.
Yes, put the non-explosive TV on it with the rest of the doings and see what you think then?
The TV arrives tomorrow?
A different shade is of no great importance, really?
You can always stain it a different colour.
Bound to be demos on YouTube on how to do it.
And there's always a French polisher?
And if not, once you put it on and you're cheering Sir Andy on at the tennis, I wager you will not twig the colour!
It is great that you take to the shape etc, too.
I think the table will prove to be a success!
I am not going to watch the Van Gogh programme for I would not know what they were talking about.
Yes, I think Miss O would maybe go with me to the pictures.

Hi, Rusty!
I have been reading up on the musical film that you want to go and see.
No, I truly had never heard of it.
But I see that it was only released yesterday!
It sounds good!
Yes, ask Miss O to go along with you.
I am sure you will both enjoy it.
Do you have a local cinema ? or will you have to into Dundee to see it?
My (younger) daughter and family are coming over tomorrow but I do not know what time.
We are wondering whether to go out early with the dog or whether they would like to come with us later on.
She tried to phone me earlier, but didn't get through and now I cannot reach her.
There must be some problem - I shall try emailing......she may read her emails.
It will be fun to see BB and YB!

Good morning, Elle!
The film sounds very good.
I will have a chat with the young ones and they can decide if they will go with me or nay!
There are several cinemas here.
Nearest (I have not been to it) is about a mile and a wee bit away, next the park.
Hope you get on fine with the TV and table!
Supposed to be milder today but nobody has told our snow.
Still there. No change from yesterday.
("Hell bent" is a fine phrase. Wonder where that came from?)

Good morning to you, Rusty!
Fell dreich here!
All the snow has been well washed away.
That very nearly included us, too, when we took the dog out at 8 am!
It was definitely a morning for wellies.
None too warm either.
Yes, ask the girls if they would like to go to see the film with you.
I don't know how your system works? but here a new film will "come out" in the city or bigger towns, before moving on to the outskirts.
So it could be several weeks before we would get it near us, for instance.
I have looked up "hell bent" in Brewers, but, apart from a definition of "grimly determined," there is no explanation as to provenance.
Daughter and family should be arriving shortly!

Hello Elle!
I think we may have to wait on the film reaching us, too.
Though you would wonder why in this high speed technological age?
I am watching the downhill skiing.
Lara Gut is leading, so far.
Lindsay Vonn made her comeback today after her upper arm break in training. I saw the x-ray. Horrifying!
She will not win today, but great to see her back!
Oops!
Tina Weirather has just gone faster than Gut.
One skier who is not racing today, is due to make her comeback after hip replacement surgery.
These ladies are tough cookies!
Hope your daughter and family arrive safely!
