Hi, Rusty!
Our snow seems to have stopped - temporarily at least.
The cars are covered, but there is no snow "lying" on the ground, although everywhere is wet.
So I think we have come off lightly,
No doubt it will be very icy under foot, though , tomorrow.
We, too, will need our car fairly early in the morning, as we have a vet appointment at 9.40am
You have the GP appointment , don't you? What time do you have to be there?
It is extremely cold here....even the dog came in from the garden very quickly tonight!

Hello, Elle!
I see the Jeep at 9.30.
I was thinking of walking but it is uphill all the way.
Will be slippy paths.
The gritter has just been along my street.
Well my car is covered in snow and so is the street, but only lightly...so far!
Ensure your TV is turned off when you leave.
It sounds a bit dodgy with the explosions.
Do not want Mr Jingles frightened when you are not there!

Good (early) morning, Rusty!
We did not have any more snow overnight, and what we had yesterday has nearly gone now........the cars are covered, but the lawn is clear,
The pavements though do look icy, and are probably treacherous under foot.
I have seen no sign of a gritter truck! but then we rarely get them, even on our main roads!
How is it your end?
There is no early morning walk today as we have to be at the vets for 9.40am.
And I want to deliver a clean and dry dog for examination, rather than a wet and filthy one.
You will be out at a similar time, going to see your GP.
I hope your pavements and roads are not too icy?

Good morning, Elle!
More snow overnight.
I think the main roads are OK here, but the snow gates are closed on some roads further North.
I hope to drive, but snow on top of ice will make things tricky here.
And there is a howling wind blowing!
So, we shall see what we shall see!

Hi, Rusty!
Home again from the vets.......
All went well.
The dog simply had her anal gland blocked again. We caught it in good time and no infection has set up.
Back in three months, all being well beforehand.
How did you get on with your GP?
Did you manage to drive there?
It is snowing again here quite blusterily, but not sticking on the ground.

Good afternoon, Elle!
Very good news about your dog.
I got on OK at Doc's.
No treatment, just get on with it, sort of thing!
So, that is good news.
The side roads here are bad with snow and slush.
I have been out with a shovel clearing a path.
Main roads are quite driveable.
The young ones all got to work OK.
it is la Bamba's first experience of "snow driving".
Think she quite liked it!

Hi, Rusty!
I am glad to hear that the doctor ( kind of ) gave you the all clear!
You did rather have me worried.
Your family too will be much relieved now that you have seen the GP.
Good for your daughter- in -law, who finally nagged you into going!
All evidence of our snow has virtually disappeared......at least from our streets and roads.
No doubt there will be vestiges remaining in the parks and nearby woods.
I don't think that we are forecast any more snow - for now!
Thank goodness!
You have obviously been a lot harder hit up in Scotland.
We are shortly going up to Homebase to collect a TV table that I have ordered from Argos.
No TV as yet........but our daughter has now offered us one of theirs........
They have bought a bigger one and the previous one has seemingly become surplus to their requirements.
She is bringing it over for our approval when they come to visit on Sunday.
I am sure that it will do very well! It is very good of them.
I shall certainly be glad to be rid of the "spitting , crackling monster" that we are presently housing!
I keep thinking it will blow up!

Hello, Elle!
Not quite an "all clear"!
More of a "let's see how it goes, but I am not worried at all" was the verdict!
The Jeep had an apprentice doctor learning with him today.
Very nice young lady.
Still snow on the ground here.
My son's van is not good in the snow, especially trying to gain traction going uphill.
There are endless climbs here.
Things look promising on the TV/table front!
Hope your table is fine.
Is it a self-assembly one?
Your daughter is a star!
Very thoughtful of her helping her parents out.
Yes, get that exploding TV off to the recycling centre.
Is there one near you?
They should have a skip for "electronic waste", I think.

Hi, Rusty!
I see......... so just be sensible then, and do what the doctor says, and go back straightaway if you have any further problems.......
No putting off until later.....
Now......the table has not yet materialised!
I ordered it online from Argos this morning, the deal being that I could pick it up from Homebase by 4 pm.
We went to Homebase....no sign of the table!
I was not best pleased.......anyway, the upshot is that it is now being delivered to our home address free of charge between 7 and 8.30 this evening!
Yes, it is self assembly.
My daughter and I are doing a good job of "recycling" between us!
She is having a work table, that we no longer need, for her computer etc.
She works from home one day a week, so this will be very useful for her.
And she is giving us a television.
Waste not, want not! as the saying goes!
Yes, the exploding TV will be taken to the dump!
There is a special section for electronic goods.
Does your son not have snow chains for his tyres?

Good evening, Elle!
Argos are usually pretty good at deliveries.
And surely it is better to get it delivered to home rather than Homebase?
A good trade with your daughter.
TV for a table!
Excellent, save you both money.
You should have your Argos table assembled before the TV arrives?
A wee tip. If held together with screws, put a tiny spot of Fairy liquid on the thread of each screw, and they go in much easier.
Snow chains are only effective on snow, Elle.
Vast majority of the driving is on tarmac, just snow on side or untreated roads.
It just happens to be hilly here.
