Good afternoon, Elle!
My weather is on the mend too!
BBC 1 coverage of athletics tomorrow is 13.15 to 15.15.
You do not need a TV guide, you can find the schedules online, Elle.
Save your money!
I am feeling "near enough"!
The restorative powers of porridge are doing their stuff!
Miss O has left to get a hair trim and her nails done!
She said it was very cold in Paris!
I have never heard about the decorations and Whit before.
I think the 6th is the time up here.
I got my car insurance reminder today, then went online to comparison site and was quite surprised at the savings I could make.
I shall explore further!
Off now to tackle my crossword!

Hi, Rusty!
I am glad that you are feeling somewhat 'improved'!
And having Miss O to visit would have been cheering, too!
I like having a TV guide , Rusty....I like to read the blurb about the programmes and sometimes about the characters and the actors who play them, too.
We just forgot to buy one so far this week!
I have now set the recorder for the Edinburgh Cross Country tomorrow, just in case I am out.
I have finished "my" share of the taking down of decorations!
My husband has still to dismantle the tree - and then climb the ladder to take down our big silver ball.
(I don't do heights!)
It was quite pleasant out with the dog, as the sun made it pleasant but it was still very cold.
How was your crossword?

Hello, Elle!
The crossword was fairly straightforward.
I have been watching the First Lady's farewell speech.
It was very good indeed.
The First Lady sparkles, I think!
I have my recorder set for Edinburgh, for I have discovered that in the new racing set-up at ITV, one of the presenters is Victoria Pendleton.
And I'll have to watch and support Queen Vic.
She looks very dapper in her trilby!
It is wet here and less cold than it was.
Miss O certainly cheers me up.
She has an ever present infectious grin!
Saw a tweet from Liz and Eilish McColgan
Guess where they were?
In Qatar cheering on Sir Andy at the tennis!

Good evening, Rusty!
It is wet here too, now!
And meant to rain throughout most of the night, with fog in the early morning!
Not pleasant!
I haven't had time (yet) to look at the 15 x15, but there were some good clues in the QC.....
Plus a homophone...I wonder what you would make of it....
21a: Immature, undefiled island, we hear (7)
Yes, I can understand your wanting to watch Victoria.
You can catch up with the Athletics later on.
What did the McColgans have to say? Was it more about Laura's new record?
Because, as I have understood it, British Athletics is saying that her new record is good and will stand? (despite Liz McC's queries)
I wish I were there watching the tennis!

Hello, Elle!
I do not think Laura's record has been officially ratified yet, in spite of what the spokesman said.
I agree with Liz.
It appears to have been set in a Mickey Mouse race.
Some run 3k and one runs 5k?
Whoever thought that up?
Very odd!
Wonder if we will get an opinion from Paula R tomorrow?
She is commentating in Edinburgh.
She will find Edinburgh a bit chillier than Monaco!
Liz was just enjoying the tennis.
She is looking well.
I do not know your clue, so I don't.
Still raining here.
Will be a muddy cross-country tomorrow!

Hi, Rusty!
Oh dear, perhaps I have it wrong then about the official ratification of Laura's record.........I maybe misunderstood what I read?
I shall await further clarification!
I am sure it will be sorted soon.
You have a good point there about Paula....someone is sure to ask her opinion on the matter.
The clue........
Immature, undefiled island, we hear (7)
"puerile" = immature (def)
"puerile" sounds like "pure (undefiled) isle"
Maybe spoken in a Scottish accent, this doesn't work?
(It does for me!)
Yes, still pouring down here, too!
A muddy cross country run in Edinburgh.......and a very poggy dog walk here!
I'm for a coffee now......

Hello, Elle!
No, you are correct,
The Athletics spokesperson said the record will stand,
but has yet to be ratified.
I think it stinks!
That race was manufactured for one athlete to get a fast pace to 3k, then did the final 2k on her own, into record breaking territory.
How on earth is that a legitimate race?
Very dubious, to my mind.
Liz has spoken about what many of us are thinking.
"Never heard of a race like that before?"
Your clue seems so be fine, I think.
Though, I would not have known puerile meant immature!

Good morning, Rusty!
Fell dreich , but fortunately none of the threatened fog!
But....would you believe that I have only just had breakfast?
I awoke about 4am....no apparent reason ...and couldn't get back to sleep again for ages....but then finally didn't awaken until gone 9 o'clock!
Virtually unheard of for me!
My day will be topsy-turvy!
No dog walk as yet.......I think she will have to wait now until after lunch......I have chores to do this morning.
Anyway, how are you today?
I hope you are feeling much better?
Did you feel fit enough to go out for your paper this morning?

Good morning, Elle!
Fog was very thick here until half an hour ago.
But it is clearing quickly and blue skies appearing!
I am still on the mend, not quite there.
Was at ASDA for the first time this year.
Just renewed my car insurance online and saved myself quite a bit of money in the process.
Looking forward to the cross-country!

Hi, Rusty!
I am playing catch up...and making very slow progress!
I keep being interrupted.
My birthday gift for BB, of the complete set of Beatrix Potter, has just arrived from Book People!
That was quick, wasn't it? I only ordered the set of books on Wednesday.
I am very pleased with them! and he is going to love them!
I have just discovered that "The Voice: UK" is back this evening!
I really like this...but it clashes with "Casualty" - another old favourite....
I doubt I shall find the time (or have the inclination ) to watch both.
Oh well, back to the grind......
Still raining here......
