Hi, Rusty!
Just been talking to my cousin on the phone for the past hour.....
You've had rain?!
I HAD googled the paintings - but it would great to see them 'in the flesh' so to speak.
http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=east+side+gallery+berlin&biw=1455&bih=894&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=1F6MVaPyM-mX7AaHi4DABw&sqi=2&ved=
Hope this works - it hasn't turned blue.........?
but if you copy and paste it into your top bar, it does work - I just tried it!
They must look terrific in situ!
Failing that, just google 'East Side Gallery, Berlin' as I did initially.
Were you reading 'Which' magazine with a view to a purchase?

Hello, Elle.
I can't copy and paste. My lentil soup is good, though.
I am thinking of getting window blinds to replace curtains. None in Which, just having a browse.
Some good stuff.
I was reading about clothes washing machines.
Miele appear to be excellent ones.
How can you speak for an hour?
You must have very rugged tonsils!
The rain was steady for a while. Stopped now.

Hi Rusty

we have always bought Zanussi washing machine ,dryer and dish washer and they work very well and are half the price of a Miele and as I only use programmes I dont want to pay for bits I dont use.Pigale was right we are to expect weather on the 30s so I will spend my days in the Conservatory where the dogs have air conditioning!!!

Gosh Doglet (By the way, Good Morning! ) your dogs are very well looked after indeed! Did you have the air conditioning installed just for them ? :)

You are right about Miele being expensive for someone who does not need to do two or three wash cycles a day - I had two Mieles when managing a Chateau Hotel and no other brand would have coped with the usage we made of them! They are the Rolls Royce of washing machine.

It is already very warm here!

Morning, Rusty!
It's another warm day...but we have had some of your rain...not a lot, but several big spots whilst we were out walking.....enough to 'dampen' us!
I hope your weather has improved?
You're surely not looking for another washing machine? it's not that long since you bought one?
I've been looking up art exhibitions up in London...I'm due to meet my friend from Tewin for a 'catch 'up,' and we usually go to an exhibition if we find one we fancy.
I've found three that !'d like to see, so will run them by her.
P.S. I haven't any tonsils - I had them out on the kitchen table (!) when I was three!!!

Hi, Doglet!
Goodness , it must be very warm/ humid where you live if you're considering moving into air-conditioned quarters!
We've got all the windows open, but it's cooler indoors than out .
Are you all set for the tennis next week? I'll have to revise one or two arrangements I think, must get my priorities right! Wimbledon comes first!

Morning, too, Pigale!
How are you today?
I suggested going to stay with Doglet last summer in her air-conditioned dog quarters, when it was too hot here! It sounded wonderful!

Hello Elle,

in answer to your question, I am hot - already
27C in sun with very little warm breeze!

Air conditioning is OK but you have to keep all windows closed all the time for it to be efficient, and I enjoy a bit of a draft every now and then !

The coolest place in my house is the garage/basement rooms! Yet in 2003, even there got very hot in the end!

Yes we did buy the air con for the dogs Bulldogs do very badly in the heat so they more than a fan one of our cats sits in front of it,the noise they make is rather disturbing but it is so nice to cool down quickly that I read and use the lap top and after a time dont notice the noise.Apparently we can expect temps in the 30s soon I shall slowly melt if I stray outside

Hey Doglet, some friends of mine have a French Bulldog, a breed that also have breathing problems. Their vet operated on the dog, basically lifting (or removing, not quite sure) a small membrane around the palate, which is what creates the problem. Since then, the dog is fine, breathes normally and..... does not snore any more!

Good morning, everyone!
My weather is still not wonderful. Dreichish today!
The Which article was about the unrepairability of modern clothes washing machines.
It is much more difficult nowadays. So, folk buy new ones.
Bit like the way TV's have gone.
Who gets a TV repaired now? I can't even think of a TV repair shop.
No, Elle, my Bosch machine is fine!
My tonsils are gone, too!
I ordered another book!
"Father Flanagan of Boystown".
I have a pile of books ready to take to local charity shop!
