Sorry but am I the only one that thinks this is ridiculous. I have been doing Guardian crossword for years and this is just absurd. I know that our beloved Araucaria is irreplaceable but Crucible is trying too hard. How can it be acceptable for the solution to be a non word. Also his initial instructions are practically unfathomable.
it was certainly unusual and at times, infuriating but it was explained that a lot of solutions would be entered as non-words.
i don't have a problem with that.
Thanks. I had thought of Hume and v and E but didn't know the whole. (Incidentally, I agree with whoever said that a crossword where the answers aren't words is a bit ridiculous)
