How is it righteousness to point out the truth. That you are a bunch of cheats and dishonest for saying winning is not important to you.

During my whole life of enjoying the world of cryptics, it has always been more about the journey than the destination. The journey of research sometimes required to do a cryptic leads one to places one might never otherwise go, to learn and explore things one might otherwise never know. That is the pleasure. And the activity tends to attract people with flexible minds, wit, insatiable curiosity and a thirst for knowledge for its own sake. When this journey can be shared with others of this nature, it feels to me very much like a heightening rather than a lessening of the experience. It's a beautiful way to draw people together for exactly the reasons people ought to be drawn together...

yonah, you have perfectly expressed what is for most people the reason they use this site.

Perhaps if any one of us should happen to win it, we could all decide to donate the prize money to an appropriate charity...

That poetic piece is all very well. But where is the beauty in trying to claim a prize (and kudos) that you simply have not earned. How can depriving someone who has earned it be right. Have your fun,enjoy the journey,the meeting of minds,etc. But don't submit your (sic) completed puzzle . It's not right or decent to do so and you know it.

disgusted, have you never asked for help or advice and never used either to your advantage? Have you never broken or bent any little rule? Have you never driven just slightly over the speed limit? Never "borrowed" office stationery? Never told even a little white lie? Are you really that pure, because if you are then you are an exceptionl person, and probably not human.
