Thank you Philistine! One of few prize crosswords that I have finished in record time and on first run through. Clever and full of fun and very entertaining an excellent confidence booster for those of us who are not as experienced .
FOI 1/4 great start
LOI 7d still working on parsing but pretty sure it is correct
COD so many but 26/27 , 24, 8 to name a few, also 10 made me laugh but I take Chrise’s point about adverb.
One of rare occasions when I don’t need to thank the guys on the forum for their help.

10a. can be used as an interjection used to express sorrow or regret. That seems to be the meaning here, though it is archaic.

Hi everybody

Started even later than usual as I was planting recently purchased plants this morning with my husband and lunch was late. I got off to a slow start, but then got 26,27ac and 2d and it all flowed from there.

As ever, I was left with some concerns about parsing. I think I have 11ac right, but could see two possible answers. I don't speak Spanish so was relieved to see the explanation above. I can't see the northerners for 18d. I certainly haven't worked out the cryptic part of 20d despite the very cryptic explanation above. I agree with Chris that 10ac should be an adverb.

My FOI 26/27, My LOI was 16ac. COD was 26/27 and also 21ac and 8d. Though 1/16d was also good.

Excellent - time to do some other things. A relief after Enigmatist last week.

Roof I took 11 hours to parse 20d. The one thing that usually misdirects me is the telephonic alphabet. That's probably already too much of a spoiler.

Roof I'm very close now to major spoilers. But it's 10.50pm and I think those that are going to do it have done it by now. What is the telephonic name for the letter that appears at the end of the clue?

Do you mean the Nato alphabet? Is that it? But why Range?

I don’t like 20d much. I understand the construction, but to me there needs to be an indication that the word “ranges” needs some kind of modification. I know many will disagree.
