2d is my LOI. I can see an obvious word but no idea about the wordplay. Possibly my favourite setter.

Unsure about my LOsI, 2d and 10a. I’ve got words that fit the crossers and definitions, but the parsing seems too approximate in one case and non-existent in the other.

2d - take a plural word for cash and ‘halve’ the first letter.

10a - insertion of old in a favourite in your local. Definition is cricket-related.

rog@6: Agreed on 6a, but the police term is obscure to this US denizen and remains somewhat unclear after googling. Also on 22, sure of solution but had to look up the "nuts" term (which isn't *that* obscure, nice clue). I'm certain we have the same solution on 2d, which appears to be the consensus. Agreed on definition vs. fodder, and I always enjoy the "halve" device.

A real challenge from Vlad. Purely from a personal viewpoint I found the top half better than the bottom. Still can't parse 18d, 19d or 20d. But I reiterate definitely one of my favourites.

FOI 5d. LOI 20d. COD I'm going all in with the very corny 15d.

rocky, 20d is a common clue and parses as 5,1 where the 5 are E. German snoopers familiar to readers of spy novels.
19d is clever and parses as a backwards [L, 2 inside 4]
18d parses as 6,S where the 6 is (indirect?) anag of a synonym for a word in the clue.

In 18d, the way I saw it, the 6 letter word has two letters moved from the end to the beginning, so it’s “cycling” as distinct from “anagram”, and therefore not indirect.

Thanks Jono and Geeker. Why I like Vlad is the clues may take some working out but they're generally fair and good.

I also learnt from this that 9d is a word at all.

BTW my earlier problems with 1a were because I had the wrong first word to 3d. Be warned.
