Struggled for a while until the PDM came with the unclued light. The two phrases were relatively easy to find as the memorandum is, quite fittingly, rather short. Excellent clues and the 4 words to highlight took mercifully short grid staring. Another corker from Hedge-Sparrow.

Hey Gitto, throw me a crumb. I've got about 70% gridfill but still not getting it.
Help with 1d, 2d maybe?

Lumen - 1D is normal; def is first 2 words. 2D is one of the thematic ones not entered normally; def is first word, pens is an indication that it's outside something.

Lumen - just to clarify further, the 2nd word of the definition for 1D is hyphenated. I have never met the answer meeting this definition.

2D - 4 Letter ceremony within 2 single letter abbreviations. It is entered IAW the unclued light.

Oh dear. I'm getting nowhere! I have a few obvious answers but they don't fit together eg 3D 19A and 19D. From the thread it seems that some are not entered normally but how do I know which or how?

Sybila, all those three are entered normally, but all three intersect with thematic entries - of which there are 7, whose clue numbers total 125.

I hit the same problem, Sybila. Cheerfully entering what seemed straightforward answers only to be at sixes and sevens with crossers. A rapid “reverse ferret” and a restart got me there in the end, so good luck!

I subscribe to the "I" App and e-mail it to my laptop to obtain a hard copy of Inquisitor using "save image as". This week it simply saved a blank sheet. Anybody out there experiencing similar?

I have successfully saved a couple of images from other sites to rule out a problem at my end.
