Very enjoyable. All complete except 15a. I have all the crossing letters but can't solve the clue nor see a word (from the crossers) that might apply. I'm sure there's a 'doh!' moment heading towards me. Hint/help please. Thanks

The first two words are the definition, and 'slip'; is, I assume, a verb, going inside the rest of the clue

American rustic 4 letters (though in common UK use also) catching 3 letter slip, English linesman is the defn

Simond9x, the 'linesman' is a poet - fairly well known (I suppose). There's the usual slip inside a word for an American rustic.

I have the answer but Chambers gives 2 entries once they've been modified in a manner suggested by 24

One is capitalised and one isn't, does that mean we should choose the one that isn't?
