I am sure many here will be relieved that the 2025 Genii series starts off on a much more gentle path than the festive season's challenges.
Enjoy!

This does look gentle, considering that my FOI was the special instruction 24. :-)

Flunked out last month on the Genius but I think I've gotten through this one. Impressive how Picaroon sets puzzles ranging from Quick Cryptic all the way through to Genius.

Picaroon is also Lavatch of the Spectator, whose puzzles tend towards the Genius end of the spectrum.

for some reason 13 held me up for an inordinate time but a fun and relatively gentle solve - didn't need the grid today, jono, but please keep posting!

Enjoyed this. An impressive number of literary references I thought.

No problem Prospero, I make the grids for my own purposes so posting a link is no extra work. I noted that this grid is very close to a grid from the Guardian library (46) with just a couple of modifications. Often the Genius grids are more customised.

All finished now, except for 2D. I can't work out how to split the clue. Any hints, please?
