I believe it's a numerical puzzle this week, so my usual wording won't work.

Help with the clues may be sought here, help with the theme may be sought here. The 'help' should be slightly more than a smidgen, slightly less than a dollop - enough to assist without spoiling things for other solvers.

The Listener is a unique puzzle and should be treated with respect.

Looks like a degree in maths is required! I have a degree in maths but am still excedingly baffled!

I enjoyed this one. Hit a snag on my first attempt in, but the second attempt worked without issue. Thanks Nipper!

Since most of the clues are wrong, then it would seem that some are not, so they have error value of 0. But clues are given in order of increasing error value, implying that no two clues have the same error value, so there can't be several with 0.

Where is MY error?

The increasing errors rule also permits the differences between consecutive clues to be the same. The difference can't decrease.

Having read the current postings on Friday evening, should I bother buying The Times today?

At the easier end of the numericals, which is no bad thing, but too much tedious number crunching in the middle.

For me it was:

An entertaining hour working out the 26 letters
A tedious hour calculating all the remaining grid entries
A moderate smile on decoding the message
