The clues...
Requests for help should normally include the clue itself, the number of letters in the answer, and details of any you already have. Any additional information or special instructions, common in Listener puzzles, should also be included.
Hints only, please, no answers.

The theme...
Help with the theme may also be sought and given here. It's expected that the help will just be a nudge, a pointer in the right direction. Aim to give enough to assist a struggling solver, not so much that it would spoil the puzzle for others. Any posts which, even inadvertently, reveal too much of the theme, are likely to be removed.

The Listener is a unique puzzle and should be treated with respect.

NB This is being posted very early as I will be out all day.

Had to concentrate very hard on that. Using the letters replaced somehow makes it ten times harder to keep on top of it all.

All fell out neatly enough in the end. Endgame is admirably immediate after last week's grid stare.

Have one parsing loose end that I'll leave til later in the week.

All done, and neatly done at that (I think).
Enjoyed the added letter gimmick - some tricky ones there.

This letter substitution definitely requires more concentration than usual. Neat puzzle, with a few groans after parsing clues.

Thanks to eXternal, that was a lot of fun.

For the life of me I can't figure out the wordplay for 18a, but it's early days so I'll look at it again tomorrow with fresh eyes:-)

Brendan, I found 18a. tricky also, till I realised that the def. is just the first 3 words.

Nearly all done, including the senders of the message, but 24d and 39a are driving me up the wall. I have an answer for 39a, which is singular, and an entry which is plural, which in turn leaves me with a single possible entry for 24d - but I cannot parse the answer for 24d,

24d - def is first word. Extra letter added to second word

Thanks CD, that is what I've been working on. I have one type of letter (i.e. vowel of consonant) replacing another of the same type, at the end of the three words (clue, answer and entry) involved, but I am still mystified

Sorry, it should read vowel or consonant.
