I thought this was one of the better EVs. There are too many misprints, extra letters and straight line highlighting in the Listener, IQ and EV, and anyone who does them all will tire of them quickly.

But other than editors putting a significant premium on originality, it’s hard to see how that will change. I don’t mind a Playfair, and I long to see a Printer’s Devil for old times’ sake, but I’m a dinosaur!

I have never seen a printers devil but I know the idea. I would love to have ago at one, rather than the misprints. I like extra letter ones.

Azed sets a Printer’s Devilry puzzle every so often. I recall there was one last year.
