Thanks to Qaos for a very enjoyable puzzle.

I can't fully parse 7d. I can see the definition as "evening wear" and first word as "dairy free" followed by a single letter "cuppa" but that doesn't account for the last 2 letters - and none of it seems to have anything to do with Mr Cum on Feel the Noise?

I recognised some of the names but i never remember to look for a theme. This film has made me sob since I was a child, I'm feeling emotional all over again looking at 4d and 11a. I wonder if it would affect my teenage boys the same way? Really enjoyed the puzzle but agree it was less of a workout this week.

Qaos used the same “Noddy Holder” device in his Genius 227 from 2022

Jono. Although it still works for the clue, people from that part of the world take a dim view of being called Brummies. 😁

Finished it quickly and enjoyed reminding myself of all the characters. Geeker you should read the book. It is excellent.

There are about four I can't fully parse, though I am sure I have the right answer. I've just got the parsing for 11ac but that still leaves me wondering about 2d, though I see the first letters involved. I've also just got the parsing for 22ac - silly me.
I'm not sure of the abbreviation used for 11,000 in 1ac.
I'm also not sure of the parsing for 23d, though the answer has helped me decide the right answer for 8d.
What does the "regent" do in 20ac?

Chris, like you I had to look up "onychophagists"

Nice to have an easy one for a change, especially as I was so tired.

Thanks Rocky, duly noted.
In Chambers it just says “a person from Birmingham”.

I forgot to say that my FOI was either 13d or 13ac (I can't remember which). LOI was 23d as I couldn't be sure of parsing. CODs 14ac and 29ac.
