Definitely at the easy end of the Everyman spectrum, I’d say - indeed close to being a write-in. But plenty of pleasure to be had along the way. One bit of modernish GK which I guessed correctly from the crossers and the fodder.
FOI 4 LOI 14. Competition for COD, but I’ll plump for 9 for its surface.

(Today’s Quiptic is much tougher than the Everyman, and shouldn’t be a Quiptic at all in my view)

20 was my COD, followed by 15.
14 confused me for a while, although the solution was clear. Parsing seems to depend on a UK usage of one of the words in the clue.

Thunderstorm kept me awake so this was a fun way to pass the time until it passed over. Some clever clues, especially the long anagrams and the rhyming pair. I also liked 17a. SE corner held me up a bit but other than that all good. I now have the Bob Marley song going round in my head.

I suspect the ! in 21d indicates that Everyman was rather pleased with this clue. It is one of the better ‘primarily’ clues.

Parsing of 15 continues to elude me. As far as I can see, it almost works, but not quite. Can anyone help?

Hi Phil,
Read the solution as 1,3,3

Wrong job title in clue for 17a?
