This felt like another Everyman of old - a breeze indeed, but with some good entertainment along the way.
FOI 1, LOI 11, which needed all the crossers before the penny dropped.
COD - well, I particularly liked 17d

My COD are 14 and 19 (both downs)
17 is an across clue?
Also liked the device in 3/4.

I found this a bit difficult by old-time Everyman standards.
Didn't see a rhyming pair, or alliteration / opposites, but maybe I missed something.

Perhaps a theme, don't recall Everyman often featuring them.

7 (d) also a fine clue.

A nice gentle start to Sunday. I‘m not sure the last letter of 24a is indicated in the clue.

Quite right, geeker. My eyes had clearly glazed over (doesn’t help that I do the crosswords on a small phone). I meant 19d and so agree with you. Sorry! Also liked the other two you mentioned.

edc - re 24: I wondered about that. I think the definition word can be made up of the solution in the plural, but I’ve not quite convinced myself!

I think the pairing this week is the endings in 3 and 11.

Funny coincidence: in yesterday's Prize I stalled out on 16. Faintly thought 16+11 might might have formed the same pairing, but that solution for 16 seemed off, so I rejected it and eventually figured out the correct solution/ parsing.

Finished this with some aid from Crossword Solver. A bit of a slog. Already nostalgic for days when Everyman provided a more bright and breezy start to Sunday.

Today’s Quiptic by Pasquale is a good one.

I am of the opposite opinion of 19. I could only think of one (very well-known) poet that fit the crossers, but took me forever to figure out how that was the answer. I could see the homophone indicated, so I didn’t expect the pun as well, Ugh. Other than that, the experimenting seems to continue. I found this one to be without much joy.
