Also defeated by that fourth S in 13d. Had a slight detour today with mite as the answer to 2d. I think it fits the clue just as well as the correct answer!

All done in a pleasantly 30 minutes. Agree about the ‘s’ in 13d.

Re 10 a I took it that File is a m*** on various software programs, eg word processors. I was amused by 1d and enjoyed the homophone at 9a.

The fourth s in 13d comes from son

Brenden, re 20a; interestingly, the answer is also a cricket, so it does make sense that you thought that! But I suppose if cricket had been the definition then the clue would have read bear...bug... rather than the other way around. Interesting that it could work both ways I think.

Like others, I'm baffled by the 4th s in 13d.

Apart from the first two letters, I can't parse the rest of 26a.

Lots to enjoy today. I appreciated the simplicity of 14d. I enjoyed the humour in 9a but I don't think (milk perhaps) was needed, as it made the answer too obvious.

That "son" want there when I did it earlier, so I'm guessing that Everyman saw our posts and amended the clue.

Ahha! Just refreshed and the 'son' appeared in 13d! So all is explained!

Hi Jules, for 26a it's 2 letter "concerning" + 3 letter "school" then 5 letter "escape" reversed/'being reviewed'.
