Not too bad, but I have a vertical line of two unfinished clues staring at me accusingly and absolutely no ideas. 2d and 12d.

I'm sure 2d will eventually be an aha moment. But with 12d, while I can think of a phrase which fits, -- in fact possibly the only two words that fit -- that phrase doesn't appear in any dictionary, and doesn't fit the clue or the parsing in any way. So I'm scratching my head.

Plutocrat, re 12d. The fictional pig appeared in a movie, and is also a slang term for a woman.
'Ones drawing' are bars of metal which attract iron. Apparently the term comes up in OED and Mirriam-Webster.
I'm scratching my head about 2d. also.

I think the bizarre 2 is most likely a Grauniad editorial gaffe.

Other than that, fun and not too tough with some nifty clues. 1 across and down both drew smiles right off the bat.

Didn't 2d play one of the 1d's in film?

Actually, wasn't he one of the other lot? Not that it makes any difference!

I thought the italics must be significant in 2d, but I can't see it.

I agree that 2d is probably a gaffe - the word has no capital letter

Good day all. On the harder side for me and am not convinced with some of my answers.

Also, despite this forum, I am stumped on 1d.

I have C - P - L - T -

I am pretty sure about my crossers, though have doubts about my 'T' from 15a. Not sure what postpone suggests.

Hi Yevrah,
Your letters are correct. Think Shakespeare.
