Hi, Izzy. For 18, remove J (for judge) from an 8 letter word in the clue. That leaves a 7 letter anagram for the 31 day solution

14ac very clever, and it confused me for ages because I'd initially put the wrong three words into the anagram helper
...and 17ac equally clever, but had me baffled because I thought the last word must be "gate"... then the penny dropped.
