an old word for honey backwards (still turns up in longer words for sweet), followed by an anagram of paris.
needed google to confirm

Re 4d the starting word (before the removal) comes from “workers at last” (with a nifty play on ‘last’)

i was replying to the wrong one. 11a i'm not convinced by "feature".

OK. I never knew that definition of 'last'. That's what I couldn't get about 4d. Again a clever clue in that case.

This is a ridiculous clue. Who could possibly work out that it is saying that "t's bound aries".Everyone will have the answer so this is not giving anything away

Hi everyone

I agree with many of you that the first five letters of 11ac do not mean "feature". I did manage to get an answer for this but didn't find it satisfactory. Thanks for the hint on 13ac. I'd never heard of that word. Rocky, My great grandfather was a bootmaker and my grandfather inherited his last, which is how I first came across this word. I was always fascinated by its shape.

I've nearly finished, just three left in SE corner and several I can't quite parse.

How about a hint for 29ac. That may help me get crossers for 25d and 27ac.

Non parsers are 10ac, 6d and 8d

Hi Roof,
In 29 the definition is “put in beastly home”, so beasts after they’ve been homed…

The intention in 11a is not that the first five letters should be a synonym for “feature”, but rather that the wordplay in the clue may be cryptically described by the answer…

Thanks Jono

I've guessed at the answer for 29ac, though can't parse it. I finally worked out the parsing for 25d - I got the answer ages ago. That gave me 27ac - so I've finished.

Jono, I understand the parsing for 11ac from the thread, but didn't like it.

It helped me that there were so many straightforward anagrams. My FOI was 19ac. My LOI was 27ac. My CODs are 26ac and 24ac (another word I didn't know before). I also liked 28ac as I'd never heard of him or her, but got it because of the "little bit of work".

Glad you’ve finished, Roof.

29 is four letters “mad” (reversed) and three letters “was first”.
