I have a full grid except for 3d, which I assume must be the answer to the penultimate clue - the only one I haven’t parsed. I have T?I?E?S?S. Where have I gone agley?

Hi Jack,

Your final S is wrong - it's 4 letter. "challenge" + 5 letter. "poet" all reversed

Thanks Brendan. I stupidly forgot to note that there were two possible unches to use in 18 across. “Pilot error” as usual!

I’m pleased that some of you found the grid useful, I’ll continue to make them.
It’s a bit late now, but Anthony who writes the software, has just explained to me that in order to enter two letters into one cell you just need to use Ctrl+I on a Mac (or the Insert key on Windows). I tested it and it works.
Brilliant stuff! We’ll know for the next time we need to do this!

…and if you are on a tablet or phone, holding your finger on an already highlighted cell for a second or so brings up a box that says “Multiletter On” which means you can then type more than one letter into that cell. Then when you click on another cell you go back to normal single letter entry.

I am truly staggered at jono's computer literacy. Each time I do a blog I have to relearn the software. It's only a pity your grid won't upload to 15 squared - but there's a site that does do that, thank goodness.

Car registrations are way out of date I have concluded.

Started this late today. 12 left to solve. I want to start placing them in the grid. Can "Question regarding...store" and "Look over...lake" intersect NW I wonder...
