Enjoyable and pretty straightforward
12d was a new word to me. 24a was guessable never heard of the duck. Enjoyed the Primarily🙂

Good fun and fairly straightforward antidote to yesterday's prize which I DNF. LOI 1a which took me a ridiculous amount of time to solve once the solution was clear from the crossers.

Sorry about the covid Richard, it's certainly doing the rounds again but I gather the symptoms are lesser than previous strains so hope that is true in your case. When I had it last year I wasn't capable of lifting a pen let alone solving yesterday's diabolical prize, so well done and get week soon!

As Brendan likes to say, stay safe all

A post-breakfast series of PDMs following the working out of 18a quicky led to 10d as LOI. Spent a while parsing 1a. A satisfying and an entertaining crossword. Thanks Everyman.

FOI was 4a. This led me to a
question (and apologies if this debate has been had in the past and I missed it): Would it offend some parsing convention or other principle were Everyman to leave 'primarily' out altogether? Or perhaps make this part of the clue routinely cryptic (as had happened occasionally)?

Carmelista, good suggestion. I realise the primarilies are interesting for the setter. But might as well enter the letters for us. I don't like them (except of course when they help me get going, a bit like VAR!). So either leave out the word or use different signals.

I'm stuck on my last two; 1a and 10d. Any hints please?

Got 10d as soon as I posted! I can parse it, but I don't really understand the definition - how is it 'to Italy?'
