Struggling badly with this. Looks simple: SHEEP - timid type - SP is the reckoning - but where is the bed connection? SLEEP - SP and bed connection, but where is the timid type? It is driving me mad!

Could it mean that counting SHEEP is what is done in bed? Is there a "?" after the clue?
