Enjoyed this one, thanks Everyman.
Fairly quick solve, though I tried to start in the NW quadrant and drew a blank. Filled in the rest of the grid and returned to NW to finish.

FOI 11, LOI 1a.

The Everyman trademark clues were particularly well done this week (IMO).
COD 9, also liked 5, 7, 1d and 1a.
Clue 24 seemed a bit awkward, but that's the only quibble.

LOI 1a for me too! I suspect we'll be hearing that a lot today. I wonder if anyone will crack it without all the crossers? Impressive if they do.
Also had a bit of trouble with 24, but more because there's another (possibly more common) word for precisely the same thing.
COD 8d, which is lovely.

i'm struggling in the nw too. sure of 12, but 10 and 2 unparsed, and nothing for the 1s yet. any hints?
15 is awful!

i jumped the wrong way with 2, and think the actual definition is dodgy, so i now have 1a.

now have 1d and so finished. nw far harder than a normal everyman!

1a was my first one in !
However failed on on 5a , 10a (don't get it), 1d and 8d (didn't know the crime novelist)

Same pattern for me - finished in the NW with 1d my LOI. I really liked 10a - the ‘the’ is the key word there loubylou.
