Funny. After an exceptionally easy and quick Prize, I couldn't even complete this Everyman on Saturday night (US time). Drew a blank on the 2nd word of 12, and was utterly lost on 24 and 26. Set the puzzle aside for the night. I've seen the trick underlying 24 numerous times, but it still occasionally snares me. :-)
Figured out 12 and 24 while dropping off to sleep. Resumed this morning and it
still took some time before the penny dropped on 26.
Thanks to Everyman for good cluing and an unusual challenge. Won't quibble about "eye rhyming" pair, as I've seen that device in prior numbers.
