well - full grid, but no real idea re the highlighting. Does "locally significant" mean in relation to position on the grid, or geographically? Also is "these words" referring to the original answer, the entry, or neither of those?

Andy P. The revealed words have a particular significance for a locality...which appears in the grid.

thanks granama1 - found a locality, is the significance the obvious geographical one (at least that's the most obvious thing i know about the locality)

If 'this' means this event, surely any noun that could follow this could also define it! And then to extend to the plural. I don't think so. Very dubious clue IMHO.
