I’m guessing it’s LIAISON. Means a carry-on, and it’s an anagram of sailing (without g for good) and o (love, zero in tennis)

Great that you gave the full clue, and always helps to say how many letters too, as not everyone will have the puzzle to hand. The word ‘out’ indicates the anagram

28 across.
"no good" = remove 'g'
"Love is out" = 'o' for nothing as in tennis (?)
Anagram of sailino to mean a carry-on = liaison.
[I'm not entirely sure about my parsing here. Any other versions/answers would be interesting.]

Ah, brilliant! Thankyou.
This forum is great. So nice to know other folks are out there scratching their heads.
I always find Cyclops Words a challenge. That one in the Christmas issue did me in. Nursed many a sherry/Baileys/port while doing it (over several evenings).

Hmm. I wonder if you could assist me with 28 down.
The clue is sprog problem.
5 letters.
I have 3 of them.
So it's i_s_e.
I'm thinking it's "issue" although I don't know how that relates to the clue. At least the sprog bit.
What do you think?

Definitely ISSUE. It’s another word for a child or children. You sometimes see SP on old gravestones. It stands for Sine Prole, the Latin for “without issue”, or childless

Thanks so much.
I had no idea issue related to children/descendents.
Hope I can help with anyone's future clues.
