Hi Jono. Not sure I knew that van means that letter or even why. Still finding that clue has unnecessary words in it for no reason other than to confuse. But thanks for the hint.

Last one I am stuck on is 22d, the German beer clue.
Don't think "ein" or "bier" are involved, though.

i reluctantly decided that letters 3-5 mean "dawn" as in "have a revelation", but if that's it, i think it's terrible!
