Never started a thread before. Finished this quite quickly but unsure of a couple. 9a for example, many solutions fit but cannot parse it. 7d also. No Spooner today. A primarily. No rhyming pair as far as I can tell unless one stretches meaning. CoD 21a I think. 9a I have B-R-E-S, suggestions welcome.

For 9 I have a word that metaphorically means "goes quickly", and also means containers for beer

7d Look for another word meaning restrain and a greek letter x 2 then reverse the lot.

With apologies for those struggling , just for once I felt what it must be like for those superstars who do the Times crossword in under ten minutes. Only happens about once a year.

I have the same for 9. 7 reads from the bottom up. There’s an antonym pairing in the first words of 8 and 9a. Everyman’s done this before.

I was pleased that I could parse all the clues today, which makes a change.

I got waylaid by 27a for a bit as I definitely had the wrong number :)

Struggled with this, and there's a few I can't parse, maybe I have some wrong.

27 definitely my clue of the day good misdirection there.
