Nice puzzle, not too hard and not too easy. A couple of misprints still confuse me but that does not affect my confidence in the answers I have. Also nice to have a puzzle without the frustration of ending it with a lengthy bout of grid staring.

Not so gentle for this solver - it took me a good three hours off and on.

Poorly worded preamble, and an instruction that wrongly implies singularity in the case of the unclued thematic items.

I thought it was very easy, partly because the extra letters jumped out before I solved the clues, and partly because the thematic items emerged so early on in the game.

I'm not really complaining as I have a busy weekend.
