Finally struggled across the line - and drxx @ post 3, I agree entirely with your sentiments. Although I have the 6 characters and the 42 cells I cannot confirm my entry @ 26ac on the RHS. I have assumed that there is an "M" in it, but I do not want to say where.

Forget my problem with 26ac RHS.

Like others I’m having a problem with 26RHS. There is a really obvious answer, but the wordplay won’t get me there. I’ve trawled OED and ODE but only the obvious 2-word stuff is growing there. I too have the M problem. Can somebody shed light please.

cockie - I wouldn’t say the answer’s “really obvious”. It’s certainly not the first one that I tried. The answer’s not in Chambers (that I can find). Pretty sure that I only found it by Googling the answer that I got from the wordplay.

OED online confirms the answer you want it to be!

I am in the frustrating position of having a full grid, with the origin and goal and five of the six characters. The remaining one has five letters (or more if other letters are shared). I have been Googling the theme for ages and cannot discover this individual. I am not very familiar with the theme, although I recognised it for reasons which should be obvious.
