All finished. Very enjoyable although I nearly gave up after the first hour - I found it so difficult to get into. A few queries remain.

1a - I still don't see the venue despite the earlier hint

24a (LHS) - I everything apart from the last word of the wordplay

18d (RHS) - I can't find the definition in Chambers etc

19d (LHS) - I can't see the wordplay
