I am finding the clues very difficult today. To make sure I can move forward, please can someone help me with a couple. There is a misprint in the definition.
11a: cases back judge caught in obstructions -I have L?F?E??? (8)
16a: Sam the Killer gave family some rich clothes (4) I have ?R??
If I could work out which word was the definition it would help.

11a starts with 'r' (the 'judge' comes first) first 2 words are def.
16a First 5 words are def (misprint in first word).

Thank you! As often I was on the wrong track. Is 16 a man’s name and if so, why please?

Glad that heloed, Jogamel.

For 10 A, think oif probably the most well-know anti-depressent, and drop the synonym for 'for',which is replaced by the next word in the clue. The definition is the first four words, one of which changes (of couurse).

Jogamel, please excuse the rather wayward typing in my last post!

Do the 4 characters start in the top left corner?

I wouldn't say so, Bunty. I always like it when the perimeter stuff starts from the first square, top row, but that's often too revealing.
