Is Anus the name of the setter and therefore โ€œmeโ€ perhaps?

15ac. Nick, like John, Paul, George or Ringpiece? (6) S?O?S? If the answer is SCOUSE I can't parse it.

I think itโ€™s just a play on the double meaning of nick. First as a name, as in the clue surface, and second as slang for nickname, of which scouse is one for a Liverpudlian, as in the others named. No more than that

Many thanks quisling. I didn't know 'nick' could be an informal short form of 'nickname'.

From the Urban Dictionary " Scoused it - stole something/did something good" so to scouse is to nick
