An enjoyable Everyman I thought with many of the Everyman hallmarks we’ve come to expect and a quite a few ‘old tricks’ which will either raise a groan or a smile. I did think there might be a food theme emerging, but perhaps not.

Is 14d a genuine spoonerism? The answer I have is another iteration of “unexpectedly” but it’s more of a homophone than a spoonerism.

Hi Richard, the Spoonerism works for me, based on swapping first letters in the first two syllables only, if that makes sense

Hi Richardk Yes I think the second word is a homophone the first word is a spoonerism I guess just about. Elizabeth I clue took me a while to work out.

Richard - I found the spoonerism works as long as you follow Jono's instructions and say the answer quickly. Actually, it's one of the better ones when you finally get it ... It took me a while too!
Can anyone help with 27A? I've got the answer (I presume) but the parsing is entirely defeating me.

Spoonerism's always my last to parse. Agree Phil it's very good once you realise that after swapping letters the 1st 5 letters are then a homophone. COD.

I can't parse 24a apart from the "money". Any hints?
