Thank you, Mattrom. The first Y is an acute embarrassment, on reflection!

A stunningly good puzzle. Absolutely top drawer. Huge thanks and respect to proXimal.

Having sorted out my fourth quadrant blunders and then sorted the results, a positive shower of pennies dropped. Thank you, proXimal; a real pleasure to observe a master of the craft at work.

I am definitely behind everybody else. I am happy with both Eastern quadrants but despite having the answers to all the clues I am struggling to find 3 letters in the Western ones and I suspect I may have a couple wrong as well. In N-W I have

HUN
H?C
ABH and in S-W

C?T
AL?
RDE

I am assuming that the author's name won't be fully revealed until the necessary changes are made. Any pointers in the right direction would be much appreciated.

AP, in your first one the H in your middle line is wrong. In the second, all your letters are correct. The preamble says ' read in the same way' - so try different ways of reading, not just the usual left to right.

AP, you are correct in assuming that the the author's name won't be fully revealed until changes are made, but it is fairly clear where it is going appear to once you learn how to read the first quadrant.
I found the corner hints in the preamble quite useful when it came to the final quadrant, SW for me.

Thank you Malone and Jono. That is a great help. In my usual stupid manner I had underlined the correct letter in clue 7 but put the wrong one in the grid. I can now see what id happening in the first three quadrants but am still unsure about the fourth, I can't see anything which makes sense when I try to rearrange the letters. I'll leave it until tomorrow in the hope of inspiration then.

Gracious of you to say so, Andy. Particularly saying so to me, given how much of a horlicks I had made of the last quadrant’s central letters! Jings, Crivvens and Help Ma Boab!

AP. Without trying to give too much away, the date of publication matters and the BRB will help mightily if you try the other altered entries in it.
