Hw - oops misread your message - i realise now why i didnt get it - the second thematic link is not my forte! i thought that was just a nudge to the overall theme, but had missed a key piece of cleverness.

Like smellyharry, I, too hated this device when it was last used. It was being a musician that showed me the endgame: ie I didn't need to identify any spare words. (Not remotely bragging, I just don't see the connection with what few words I could identify)
