Thanks for all your entries. A great range of clues, giving me no easy task.
There were anagrams from chrise 2, geeker 32, buddy 31&33, culmer 41, and clever subbies from geeker 14, simplesimon 19, FJ 29, geeker 30 and tyke 40.
I was interested to see the compound anagrams from buddy 6, jono 7 and geeker 18.
Aristo's neat 'forage' clue is in a class of its own – a reverse composite?
Paul's 7 and dorrien's 15 raised a smile.
While normally not a fan of indirect anagrams, (or indirect subtractions) I appreciated the ingenuity of geeker's 14&18, and spike's 'argonauts'.
I liked the 'agouti' clues from geeker 12 (the only 'hidden' clue), patrich 20 and jono 21, and the sports clues from buddy 13, patrich 28.
My short list included buddy 6, 9&13, paul 10, dorrien 15, jono 16, patrich 20&25, aristo 39, tyke 40.
For combining tricky wordplay with a neat surface, I'm going with buddy's compound anagram #6 as this week's winner;
This stew, with effort I'm exerting, could be fit for a gourmet
