CLUELESS 575
Welcome to Clueless, our informal weekly clue setting competition. The idea is to compose a cryptic clue to a given word or phrase.

The winner of the previous week's competition both decides the word to be clued and judges the entries for the current week. The judge's decision is final and reasons may or may not be given at the judge's discretion. It is customary for the judge to donate a virtual prize to the winner.

Multiple entries may be submitted, and new competitors are particularly welcome. Feel free to give an explanation of your clue, if you think it might help.

Clues should be submitted by 9:00 pm (UK time) on Wednesday, 20th April 2022.

This week's challenge is:

RAGOUT (6)
RAG-OUT (3-3)
RAG OUT (3,3)

The third definition is not in Chambers.
Have fun!

The only def of rag out I can find is "(US regional, slang) To dress up." Is this what you had in mind?

Not sure why the full link doesn't work, you need to add 'out' in the search box.

This stew, with effort I'm exerting, could be fit for a gourmet

another try at a compound anagram (now that I know what it's called)

ragout effort im --> fit for a gourmet
